Beautiful Skin Is The Base For Beautiful Makeup

Many do not realize it, but your skin is the most important aspect to consider in any makeup application. It is your base, your canvas. Would you want to construct a painting on a canvas that isn't prepped or is marred in some way? With beautiful skin comes a beautiful makeup look!

It is super important to take care of your skin and to use the correct products from your age range, to your skin type to what your concerns are. Many people do not want to invest in the products for their for their skin because they think it is too expensive; but think for a moment. How much do you spend on your clothing? Or your accessories? How much money do you spend on hair care maintenance? Now think about this - you wear your skin every single day. Not only that, you will be wearing your skin for the rest of your life!

Even when using the best, high end makeup products they will not preform as well with skin that is not cared for - makeup does not look good on super dry, unmoisturized skin - that's where a lot of ladies end up with cake-face! For those with oily skin, the makeup will just slide off.

It isn't just important to take care of your skin for the sake of makeup - but for your health and your future. Did you know that from your early to mid twenties your body slowly begins to decrease the amount of collagen produced? Meaning your skin is beginning the process of aging; I know, it's a scary thought! If you begin using proper anti-aging products (I always recommend starting by your mid twenties), your skin will not age as much as those that do not use proper care. Do you want lovely skin as you grow older? Or do you want to be bogged down with wrinkles and age spots?

One thing that is often neglected and is very, very important is protecting your skin! Pollution in the air can damage your skin, can get lodged into your pores. Harmful UV rays from the sun can age you more and it increases the risk for skin cancer. Did you know that even on the cloudiest day those harmful rays can still reach you? You should always wear SPF below your makeup and even on a bare face. Not only that, the fluorescent lighting in your office or a store? Those contain harmful rays as well!

Now how can you begin caring for your skin? Get into a routine! Cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin every single day. If you're serious about your skin - use a serum and an eye cream (I always recommend an eye cream, they carry so many benefits!) and treat your skin once or twice a week with a face mask. Once you get into that routine it becomes super easy and a great way to treat yourself.

With well cared for, healthy, beautiful skin comes confidence - with or without makeup. Your makeup application will also look much better!

If you are having trouble deciding which products are right for you, I completely recommend checking out Mary Kay's skincare lines. All products are clinically proven to work and all of the ingredients are FDA approved. They are formulated for sensitive skin without any added fragrances. They carry a really good range of products for every skin type and age. The best part - If you aren't satisfied a week, a month, even a year later you can get your money back! I have personally used these products and I do believe in them. They do work! Even with just one application of the Timewise line I instantly noticed a difference in my skin.

I would never recommend products to my clients that I would not use myself, as I would never use products on a client that I would not use myself. Just some food for thought! :)
